Join PENTAGON at the 7th edition of Sustainable Place: Europe’s #1 destination for dissemination of research, collaboration, networking and the creation of market opportunities The edition of Sustainable Place 2019 will be in Cagliari (Italy) from the 5th to 7th of June.  Sustainability targets and climate change...

The PENTAGON project is near the end of its first year of life. The main activity for the partners are focussed is the modeling phase of the pilot’s system.

The modeling phase keeps in consideration the buildings energy consumptions and all the systems which use energy at building and district level. The electrical and the thermal networks connect BGCBC buildings at the energy plants, in particular, the district heating networks connect the building with the Energy Centre, where the thermal energy is produced by three main type of systems: a CHP, two biomass boilers and four natural gas boilers. The collection of data and system parameters, characterize the behavior of each single building model and in consequence the entire district model.

The PENTAGON partners involved in the Work Package 5, met in Blaenau Gwent (project pilot) on the day of 12th September with the common aim to define the fundamental parameters for the modeling activities.
Exergy, as project coordinator, has driven the meeting that saw the participation of BGBC, Cardiff University, Tractebel and R2M Solution.
The discussion about the characterization of the pilot’s buildings and about the Buildings Management System has considered the main sensors installed at the energy plants and into the connected buildings.

The results of the meeting are summarised in a list of sensors and meters to install at the energy plants, necessary to implement the data acquisition campaign and to analyze the potential flexibility of the systems.
